Announcements
• We had some high school leaders visit us this week. They gave us a challenge to read more at home. Please fill out and return the weekly reading logs for our challenge this month!
• We will have some fun activities planned for Valentine's Day, including sharing valentines. We will have time on the 14th to decorate bags to collect valentines. I will send home the list of names and information early next week.
• Our school will be reading "Sled Dog School" together in February for I Love to Read month. The PTAC purchased books for each student.
Language Arts
• We are on our last week of stories about inventions and technology. Our skills will be author's purpose, text structure, roots and prefixes, main ideas and supporting evidence, and poetry.
• We will write another information paragraph this week, about fish. The elephant paragraphs turned out great!
• Our spelling words have ou or ow...out, count, round, mouth, house, now, brown, town, owl, cow.
Math
• We will be learning about measurement and perimeter.
Social Studies
• We will start a geography unit this week.
