Announcements
• February is "I Love to Read" month. To celebrate each student will receive a copy of "The One and Only Ivan." We will be reading the chapter book together this month.
• Thank you for all of your support during our school fundraiser! We had a wonderful pajama day and dance off!
• I will be sending home Valentine information on Monday.
• Your child made a goal today for reading and what they were going to do to become a better reader. Please check with your child about their plan.
• We will be taking the standardized math test Tuesday morning.
Language Arts
• We are starting a new reading unit on technology. The skills for this week are summarizing, using roots and affixes (-ly and -tion), main topic/supporting evidence, and inferring.
• This week we will work on an opinion piece about penguins.
• The spelling words have a silent e or -le. They are...hope, shape, baseball, mistake, inside, useful, apple, little, table, purple.
• Read every night for 20 minutes (this was a common goal today).
Math
• We are starting Unit 4 which will focus on coins and double digit subtraction.
• Practice addition and subtraction facts.
Social Studies
• We are starting a new unit on geography.
