Announcements
• Thank you for coming to conferences last Thursday. The remainder of the conference are this Tuesday. I look forward to seeing everyone.
• MEA break is on Thursday and Friday.
• I wanted to share with you that our class will be taking a field trip to the Mille Lacs Indian Museum and Trading Post in Onamia on Tuesday, November 7th. Permission slips will be sent home Monday (10/16). The cost will be $14.00 per student. You can pay online in Skyward or you can send cash or check to school. Please let me know if you need help covering the cost of the field trip.
I am looking for 4 volunteers to join us! We will leave around 8:30 in the morning and return to school around 1:30 in the afternoon.
Volunteers will need to...
1. Have a recent background check on file with the school
2. Be able to supervise a group of 2nd grade students
3. Pay $14 to cover the cost of the trip
Please let me know if you are interested by Wednesday, October 25th!! I will put your name in a drawing and let you know by Friday, October 27th if you are selected.
Language Arts
• We will discuss the elements of fiction stories (characters, setting, problem, solution, and plot).
• We will work on narrative writing this week.
Math
• We will take a quick quiz and time test. We will also practice ordering numbers, comparing numbers, and 2-digit addition.
Science/Social Studies
• We will be reading Scholatic New magazines.
