Announcements
• 2 hour early release on Wednesday. Please let me know if your child will do something different after school that afternoon.
• Thursday is picture day.
• Thursday evening is the PTAC family event "Fall into School." Starting outside MHES at 5:30pm.
Language Arts
• This week we will focus on fiction/nonfiction, asking and answering questions, and finding the main topic and evidence in text. We will continue learning about writing complete sentences. Our phonics time will review short vowels and the FLSZ rule.
Math
• We are working on place value, skip counting, odd/even numbers, and addition strategies. Students brought home their first addition time test on Friday. The expectation for the 1st trimester is that students will complete 25 or more complete addition problems in 4 minutes.
Social Studies and Character Education
• We will wrap up our unit on responsible citizenship.
