Announcements
• The first 2 days went great! We went over classroom behavior expectations and expectations for keeping our classroom safe this year (hand washing and mask wearing).
• We are working on mask safety. Please make sure your child's mask is a good fit. It should cover the student's nose and mouth, and it should stay in place. The blue masks that were sent home at Open House seem to be a good fit. Some students have lanyards for their masks that work great!
• Our specialist for the week is Phy Ed.
• Until the students get accustomed to our schedule, please send a bit more to eat for snack. Thanks!
Language Arts
• This week we will be starting the launching program for reading and phonics.
• We will be learning how to write a good sentence during writing.
• Please have your child read nightly for at least 15 minutes.
Math
• We will start unit 1, which focuses on addition and subtraction skills.
• Practice addition and subtraction facts at home.
Social Studies
• We will discuss how to be a good citizen.
